Elise Archer is the Speaker of the House of Assembly, and was formally elected on Tuesday, 6 May 2014.
As the Speaker, Elise Archer Chairs the Standing Orders Standing Committee, Privileges Standing Committee, House Joint Sessional Committee, Library Joint Sessional Committee, and the Printing Select Committee.

Shadow Ministerial responsibilities from 2010 to March 2014:
Elise was the Shadow Minister for Police & Emergency Management, Planning, Community Development (covering women, child/youth affairs, seniors, multiculturalism/migrants/refugees) and Aboriginal Affairs, and the Lower House spokesperson for Corrections.
She was the Opposition Whip .

Elise was a member of the Joint Standing Committee for Subordinate Legislation (which reviews delegated legislation ie. examining the provisions of every regulation or by-law) and the House of Assembly Privileges Committee (which considers matters referred to it by the House relating to alleged breaches of privileges by Members or others).
