Liberal candidate for Denison, Elise Archer, announces that a Hodgman Liberal Government will provide:

  • $150,000 to make the overpass at Goodwood more accessible for persons with disabilities and pedestrians with prams; and
  • $60,000 to the South Hobart Soccer Club to upgrade its clubroom facilities.

“Currently, people using the Goodwood overpass need to be able-bodied and people with prams cannot access it because the only access is by staircase,” says Elise Archer.

“It must be made accessible to young families, who need to use it to cross the highway safely to take primary school aged children to and from the nearby Goodwood Primary School. The crossing should also be accessible to those who require wheelchair access to meet Disability Discrimination Act standards.”

“The South Hobart Soccer Club has a lengthy history. It is 100 years old this year. It has relationships with other clubs (the Central Region under 6s to under 12s), it fosters a relationship with Korean students and also has a strong connection to Ken Morton’s Soccer School. The clubrooms at present are in desperate need of an upgrade.”

“I am pleased to deliver on my promise to fight for funding for these two important community facilities,” says Elise Archer.
