Earlier this week, the Labor Party quietly released its justice policy under the cover of darkness.

No media conference, no announcement, not even a media release.

No wonder.

Labor should be embarrassed by their so-called justice policy.  Not only does it confirm Labor is soft on crime, it doesn't address many of the key community concerns.

Labor can't even say who their justice spokesperson is, presumably because they don't have one.

Labor's policy completely ignores the need for mandatory sentences for people who commit sex offences against children.

It fails to deal with the growing risks of assaults on our frontline workers.

It rules out building a new prison in the north.

And it says nothing at all about how a minority Labor-Green government would tackle the scourge of ice in Tasmania.

And it fails to provide any detail about how Labor will keep Ashley open - as they now claim they will.

That's because, as we all know, the Greens wouldn't let Labor tackle any of the key challenges in our justice system.
